Hotel Engineer

JOB DESCRIPTION IS BELOW :
Duties/responsibilities:

• Provides maintenance of hydraulic system Davits lifeboats and tenders as well as cranes of life raft.
• Provides overall control for the condition of AC compressor room;
• Orders and makes supervision of spare parts within the scope of his responsibility.
• Encourages his subordinates in the execution of the safety and environmental Company’s policy.
• Monitors technical operation of all ship’s hotel machineries and equipment and provides their maintenance.
• Reports about any malfunction or damage of equipment’s to Chief Engineer and takes appropriate measures to fix them.
• Participates in making up of repair specification list.
• Maintains and ensures reliable operation of the following equipment and mechanisms.
• Watertight doors
• Jalousie of the ship’s Funnel.
• Potable water system including heaters and pumps.
• Chlorination system (including logging and monitoring).
• Mooring equipment including anchor winches and capstans.
• Garbage incinerator.
• Keeps under supervision the following documentation.
• Maintenance schedule and maintenance reports in scope of his responsibility.
• Reports with results of potable & swimming pool water analyses.
• Maintenance record book.
• Inventory entries and landing reports in scope of his responsibility.
• Air conditioning plant including compressors units, pumps and piping systems.
• all heating, ventilation and air conditioning equipment in ship's accommodation.
• AC rooms.
• Refrigeration compressors with equipment for provision rooms, reefer containers.
• Food waste pulper system from passenger/crew galley.
• Grey water and sewage system including pumps, piping and biological treatment tanks.
• Pool pumping and heating unit with chlorination and filtering system.
• Hot and cold water systems with bath and toilet equipment.
• Passenger/crew galley equipment, laundry machinery.
• Plumbing and piping in accommodation.
• Drainage system from open decks and accommodations.
• Fire flaps except engine room ventilation system.
• Maintains and ensures reliable operation of the following equipment and mechanisms.
• Organizes safe and good working practice in his sub-department considering the seamanlike fashion and reports any problem to the Chief Engineer.
• Exercises supervision of general good order in AC room, and plumber workshops and stores.
• Makes daily inspection of all fan rooms, reefer and compressor rooms to ensure that they are cleaned and in good working conditions.
• Orders and makes supervision of spare parts and consumables for his sub -department to provide proper maintenance.
• Ensures that all records relevant to the SMS, and as defined in procedures, are available.
• Fills in and keeps the following documentation.
• Maintenance schedule and maintenance reports in scope of his responsibility.
• Reports log with tests of pool water.
• Reports log with tests of sewage water.
• Inventory entries and landing reports in scope of his responsibility.
