Nationality requires: Non-EU / UKR / RUS (Schengen visa required)
Remarks: Vessel is presently in DD and to be restructed for General Cargo type. First trip will be from Germany to the project in the Biscayas. Next projects are in West Africa (200 nm from Coast with "home" port being Las Palmas), then probably a project in South America and thereafter in the Indian Ocean.
We are currently looking for a Cook to join a small vessel, formerly operated as a trawler and presently being reconstructed into a survey vessel.
Crew on board: 9 persons
Nationalities: Ukrainian, Russian, Lithuanian, and German
Accommodation: The Cook will share a double cabin with another crew vision budget: Unlimited / no fixed provision rate.
Required skills and experience:
Good baking skills;
Experience in pickling, preserving, and marinating food;
Familiarity with Mediterranean and European cuisine;
Ability to independently organize meals and galley operations for a small multinational crew.
Scope of work:
Due to the limited number of crew members on board, most of whom will be involved in survey operations, the Cook will also be responsible for the majority of housekeeping duties.
Main responsibilities will include:
Cooking 3 meals a day
To be on the table, coffee,
Keep the kitchen clean, mess room clean, the 1 bathroom, the changing room and the hallway,
Wash kitchen clothes
The position therefore requires a person who is not only a competent Cook, but also flexible, hardworking, and comfortable performing housekeeping duties as part of the daily routine on a small vessel.
