Responsibilities and Authorities

Familiarising himself with the details of the vessel’s construction, store rooms, galley, safety and other equipment;

Maintaining a high standard of personal hygiene and throughout the working environment, combined with a high standard of discipline and behavior compatible with his position;

Assisting the Cook as required with the preparation of food;

Serving the meal;

Cleaning of mess rooms and officers’ cabins;

Handling of provisions and accommodation stores;

Carrying out laundry tasks as required;

Must maintain the laundry room clean and empty of all possible fire hazards;

Assisting with ordering, handling and administrating of general and cabin stores;

Ensuring that the electrical appliances are switched off before the messrooms and pantry are vacated each night;

Ensuring full compliance with Garbage Management Plan as segregation, collection and storage of waste;

Any other duties as instructed by the Cook.
