JOB DESCRIPTION :
A Second Engineer on a container ship manages daily engine room operations, under the Chief Engineer, focusing on maintaining main engines, auxiliaries (generators, pumps, boilers), managing spares/consumables, supervising junior staff (Third/Fourth Engineers, cadets), ensuring safety/environmental compliance (Oily Water Separator, fire gear), performing watchkeeping, and handling repairs/maintenance, especially for complex systems like reefer containers and cranes, using systems like AMOS PMS.
