Responsibilities and Authorities
Familiarising himself with the details of the vessel’s construction, machinery and operation, safety and other equipment;

Carrying out maintenance and repair of all mechanical equipment, plant, pipelines, valves and structural steel work in the Engine Room and on Deck as instructed by the Chief Engineer;

Assisting and supervising the handling, stowage of engine stores and spare gear;

Maintaining workshop(s), keeping a written inventory of stores, consumables and tools, advising the Chief Engineer of any shortage.

Assisting during bunker operations;

Must abide to the safety management system and security system within the technical department;

Any other duties as instructed by the Chief Engineer.

Assisting in mooring operations.
