Position Requirements


The Air Condition Engineer is responsible for managing the ship's air conditioning and refrigeration systems , ensuring safety and efficiency. They oversee maintenance, repairs, and ensure minimal consumption of CFCs/Halons. This role involves maintaining records, managing inventory, and preparing maintenance specifications. They also supervise spare parts orders and the work of assigned assistants, adhere to company policies.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible to the Chief Engineer for the safe and efficient operation of the vessel’s refrigeration and air conditioning system. Reporting any abnormal condition concerning the system assigned.
Responsible to the Staff Engineer for the supervision, testing, planned and preventive maintenance and repairs. Ensuring that the consumption of CFC’s/Halons are reduced to the minimum, properly monitored, and recorded.
Updating of inventory files, maintenance records, operating manuals, plans and drawings.
Submitting initial spares and consumables requisition to the Chief Engineer.
Supervising ordering of spare parts and checking received parts.
Keeping fan rooms clean and free of any potential fire hazard.
Preparing dry docking maintenance and repair specifications and submitting those to the Chief Engineer for final approval.
Supervising and detailing of assistants assigned under his charge.
Attending emergency drills and exercises as required.
Complying with company’s rules, regulations, policies and master's internal standing orders.
