The 1st Assistant Engineer supports the Chief Engineer by supervising engine room operations, ensuring safe and efficient functioning of all machinery. Responsibilities include:
Overseeing engine room watch and supervising technical crew.
Operating and maintaining main and auxiliary engines, generators, and related systems.
Performing routine and emergency maintenance, repairs, and inspections.
Managing fuel, ballast, and waste operations in compliance with environmental regulations.
Ensuring availability of spare parts and consumables.
Maintaining accurate logbooks and technical records.
Supporting safety drills and maintaining firefighting and lifesaving equipment.
Assisting in training and development of junior engine staff.
Ensuring compliance with international maritime regulations and company policies.
