Chief AC Engineer job Description
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Oversees and supervises the operation, maintenance and repair of the ship's HVAC equipment/ system, domestic refrigeration plant, ventilation, cooling, freezing, provision equipment, all air conditioning throughout the vessel plus ice skating arena equipment (available on some ships).
• Reports to the ship's Staff Engineer and Chief Engineer and oversees maintenance and repair of the engine room and galley ventilation systems, multi-flow beverage machines, mini-bar units and ice making machines.
• Responsible for duties distribution and training of subordinate refrigeration engineers.
• Checks and ensures that all environmental systems within the department are operated and maintained up to cruise line's standard and international regulations.
• Ensures that subordinate refrigeration personnel are aware of the cruise line's health, environmental, safety and security policies, as they apply to their positions.
